November Recap + December Plans

Hi everyone,

I'm terribly late with this turn-of-the-month post, and I apologize. Last week was hogged by Finnish Independence Day and some paperwork I had to take care of. On Friday, I reviewed my current tasks and upcoming releases.

This month there are, of course, the holidays coming, and this will affect my work schedule somewhat, but still, I expect to catch up with the four monthly releases.

Without further ado, let's get to business, and I'll try to keep things brief.

November Releases

Last month I did three releases. I fell short of my planned releases as the Cerberos-class ship had six decks altogether and making it took much longer than I had planned.

Getting More Assistance

During the past eight months, Pauliina has been helping me with the assets and maps. Your increased support has allowed me to get more help from Pauliina, and this, in turn, has allowed me to branch out a bit and carefully start some side projects that I've been considering for a long time already.

Mapvember & Ironspine Adventures

In September me and three of my friends founded an RPG publishing LLC, Ironspine Press. As a sort of warm-up, we decided to take part in #mapvember by making 30 short adventures or encounters for Fifth Edition.

You can find a short preview of the Questvember 2022 Collection in the attachments.

If you would like to see more old-school style maps by yours truly and 5E content designed with settings like Spelljammer, Eberron, and Planescape in mind, I welcome you to have a look at our fantasy Patreon at www.patreon.com/ironspine

New And Revived Patreons

During the past two months, I have revived Mythos Maps and launched a new Patreon focusing on cyberpunk and hard sci-fi maps. I will not go into the reasons and details for setting up these Patreons right here. If you haven't already, you can read the details in the announcement posts for Mythos Maps here and Cyberpunk Maps here

Revised Miska's Sci-Fi Maps Focus

Now that there is a separate Patreon for cyberpunk and hard sci-fi maps (including thrust-gravity stack ships and space stations with spin-gravity sections), this Patreon will increase its focus on space opera and science-fantasy content using Star Wars and Starfinder as main references. But I want to cover other styles and aesthetics as well. For example, Darktide-inspired Warhammer 40K asset pack and some maps are coming as soon as possible. The same goes for Star Trek-inspired assets, including LCARS panels, teleport pads, etc. More about these later.

Starlord Tier Update: More Maps!

Starlord tier had a quick update last month. Cyberpunk and Mythos maps were included as bonus content, but for clarity, I separated them into their own bullet point.

In other words: Starlord tier patrons get all the Cyberpunk and Mythos Map mid-tier releases equivalent to Street Samurai & Investigator tiers. This option exists to offer a way to support all three Patreons without having to subscribe to all of them.

Upcoming Sci-Fi Maps

This month there will be at least three releases:

The fourth map is still open, and I'll set up a poll for that shortly.

Upcoming Assets & Prefabs

Some new asset packs are also underway:

Upcoming Foundry VTT Module Updates

Sci-Fi maps module vol 3 is mostly done. It needs a few small tweaks related to new V10 features. I hope this will be out before the Holidays. The sooner, the better.

In general, we are moving to support v10 with the new modules, as it seems that most systems have support for it

Upcoming Dungeondraft Updates

As I've been using Dungeondraft more lately, I've also learned that the current asset pack division is not optimal. It was originally based on Roll20's asset categorization, but I've noticed that this is unnecessary and sub-optimal with Dungeondraft asset packs.

I'm working on a new asset pack organization with a "core" pack having the most important and universal assets and then separate packs for more specific genres or environments.

Also, colorable assets are being worked on.

I assume this update will take some time, and the new packs will probably be out in January.

That's all for now. New releases are coming next week. Thank you for your support, and stay tuned for more news!
