Kiri La Kill - Chapter 13

Remember lads, we will have 6 Kiri La Kill updates for this week! That means one update per day, provided I don't just decide to do double updates on some days, but that is all up in the air right now.

Enjoy the Chapter!

------------------------------

The silence felt like it had gone on for a week.

It was a rather awkward question to be asking someone out of the blue, especially if it was so out of place in the context of current events. It was enough to stun even someone as bombastic and fanatical as Gamagoori Ira, who stared at Kirishima Eijiro with a slack-jawed expression.

But it was undeniable that Kiri simply hadn’t been able to shake the feeling that he knew this person from somewhere… Perhaps they had met before he had lost his memories? Not that Kiri would be able to tell, beyond a faint impression of fire and brimstone that really didn’t leave him with a lot of confidence.

Yes, that voice undoubtedly had a very strong impression on the boy.

And speaking of very strong impressions…

“Hey, hey mister!” Kiri felt a tug at the sleeve of his arm, and looked to his side to see the girl he’d rescued and had to take with him. “Why did you ask the world-famous Gamagoori Ira his name? Were you born under a rock or something? Did you invade Honnouji without knowing anything about it? Are you just that dense?”

“My Quirk does not make me dense!” Kiri was shocked out of his trance by that rather unexpected intermission. “I-I mean… I did my research! He just sounded different in the recordings I saw of him on the internet!” Even without his memories, Kiri knew that it was a common thing!

“I wouldn’t know,” The girl seemed unimpressed however. “As I grew up poor and without access to such luxuries!” Both Kiri and Ira faltered at the girl’s quite frank admission of her (lack of) privilege. “In fact, I may never get access to them now that you’ve likely doomed me and my family to be executed as traitors!”

And now that cheery admission had Kiri slack-jawed too!

“E-executed?” He said, and the girl nodded with a cheer that left Kiri shivering… Just how bad could this Academy get..?

“SILENCE, GIRL!” Gamagoori Ira’s booming voice suddenly interrupted the ongoing conversation and thought process. “DO NOT INTERFERE AND MAKE THE SITUATION WORSE FOR YOURSELF!”

“Aaaah! Scary!” The girl disappeared behind Kiri’s formidable form immediately.

“AND YOU!” Ira’s ire turned to Kiri. “WE HAVE NEVER MET, KIRISHIMA EIJIRO! BUT I KNOW OF YOU! THAT YOU WOULD TAKE A STANCE AGAINST HONNOUJI ACADEMY MARKS YOU AS THE ULTIMATE CRIMINAL!”

“I don’t recall being given a choice.” Kiri said, a scowl coming over his face as he stared up at the gigantic boy, clenching his fists.

“THAT IS IRRELEVANT! FOR EVEN THE TINIEST GNAT COULD SEE THAT THE FUTURE BELONGS TO LADY KIRYUIN!” Even now, Kiri could see for certain that there would be no talking to this man, he was too much of a fanatic for that. “CEASE RESISTANCE AND ACCEPT BEING DETAINED.”

“THEN PREPARE TO BE PUNISHED FOR YOUR CRIMES!”

Kiri scoffed.

“You can try.”

“YOU HAVE SIGNED YOUR OWN DEATH WARRANT!” Gamagoori said, and the three stars on his uniform glimmered with ominous light… but for once, he had acted too slow with his movements, for Kiri was already on the move.

The first thing the Hard Boy had done was to jump backwards, putting more distance between himself and Ira… In a move that might have been interpreted as running away, had he not grabbed the girl who was hiding behind him.

He dropped her off on the smoking ruins of a Helicopter, making sure she was free of injuries before finally rising to his feet… before he let her be though, he did say one thing. “I won’t let them hurt you or your family.” Kiri said. “You can count on me, umm…” He didn’t know her name, of course he didn’t.

“I’m Mako! Mankanshoku Mako, Person who ruined me for marriage by carrying me around everywhere while being naked!” Kiri faltered at her rather creative nickname for himself. “And good luck with that! I’m sure I’d be very grateful!”

“D-don’t worry about that for now, just focus on hiding.” Kiri coughed, rolling his shoulders. “I’ll take responsibility later.” And for once, the girl didn’t have a response to that, only blinking very rapidly as Kiri turned around and left her be.

Gamagoori Ira had not moved for a single inch, even now.

Perhaps that meant he still had a twisted sense of responsibility toward students he was meant to be in charge of… Kiri didn’t care enough to verify that just now.

He began to walk toward Gamagoori Ira.

“I suppose I should be thankful.” Kiri began, slowly winding up for the same charge that he had used to break Honnouji’s lines. “All this fanatical talk about your Lady Kiryuin means that my job here is easy.”

“SPEAK SENSE, KIRISHIMA!”

“All I need to do to bring this villainous organization down to the ground, is to take out the one at the top.” He said, and the way that Gamagoori Ira’s eyes bulged out of his skull, and all could see at that moment that the sheer rage he felt… was indescribable.

“THE REST OF YOUR LIFE WILL BE SPENT EATING THOSE WORDS!”

Gamagoori Ira's body became covered by his Uniform, as his eyes kept glaring at Kiri. Who simply increased his speed more and more until…

…Unstoppable Force met Immovable Object.

---------------------------- -------------------- ------------------------

It was a sight both terrifying and mesmerizing, to see Honnouji Academy’s metal gates denting and cracking under the force of the shockwave produced by the force of Gamagoori Ira and Kirishima Eijiro clashing against each other.

The Honnouji Student Council seemed to think so, having had to reevaluate their opinion of the threat posed by this single boy numerous times that day, and now having to do so again… the top dogs were forced to realize that their status as such might not be so secure after all.

Kiryuin Satsuki watched it all with an impassive gaze.

Of course, it was impossible to say that she had been unaffected. For she had surely received a shock when beholding Kirishima’s abilities, and a certain sense of ominous premonition when seeing how one person could decimate through her entire defensive line like it was nothing…

What had Kirishima Eijiro had seen that had made him decide that her efforts were villainous?

Why was he acting now? Had he suddenly come to the realization recently? or was there something deeper lurking beneath here? By what moral standard, when all of Japan lauded her efforts as revolutionary?

Even as Gamagoori Ira roared his defiance, and shouted for Kirishima Eijiro to punish him more, and about how he could take it, and even as a determined Kirishima slowly but steadily tore through his defenses, Satsuki watched in silence.

The fight was evenly matched, Satsuki’s gaze could discern… She knew that it wasn’t strength of arms that would decide the victor, but something far more nebulous.
