Kiri la Kill - Chapter 32
Added 2023-11-05 17:15:41 +0000 UTC18 chapters to go, wew lad… we are rapidly steaming toward the end, expect thing to pick up massively from this point onward. I have some specific milestones arranged for the coming chapters that should smoothly guide us toward the end.
Here is a list for what I have planned so far, if we assume that all of these will take 2 to 3 chapters each to accomplish, then I am more than confident of managing it before we hit the 50 Chapter Threshold.
-Ryuko and Kiri become cordial.
-Satsuki and Kiri going romantic.
-Ryuko and Kiri (either starting or immediately) going romantic.
-The battles with Harime.
-The battles with Ragyo, Kiri getting over his slump.
-Last 5 chapters at the very least dedicated to slice of life goodness.
In other news, my exam schedule has dropped toward the end of the month, which will certainly put a damper on my live schedule, but shouldn’t effect the schedule of this much, beyond a missed update on a Monday.
Now, a shorter chapter to tide us over until the double update tomorrow. See you all on the other side.
------------------------------------------
The altercation started off rather normally, actually. Or rather, as normally as things could get in a place like Honnouji Academy, but that went unmentioned for both Kiri and Ryuko these days, as used to it as they were by this point.
They met in the courtyard of Honnouji Academy, right as classes were dismissed. Kiri had left in his usual time, sighing about the temporary loss of his usual after-class talks with Satsuki, while Ryuko had left a bit early, just so she could meet him right in the middle.
Like cowboys preparing themselves for a good old duel, they met right in the middle right as the sun was starting to dip into the horizon, Ryuko already suited up, and looking like she had taken his words to heart, Kiri simply dressed in his usual clothes.
And immediately, all of the students that had crowded around them ran around them to give them some space, some running away, some watching in anticipation, and some just perving on the scantily clad Ryuko like they’d never seen a woman show some skin in real life.
There were those watching from up high as well, from the classrooms up above, with binoculars in the distance, and from up in the tower that Kiryuin Satsuki usually surveyed her Kingdom from… and some, from cameras that no one knew was watching.
These eyes would prove to be the most important ones in the end.
The members of the Elite Four, the teachers of Honnouji both undercover and not, operatives from certain covert groups, and most importantly… a certain person who was viewing all of these events with great interest.
Yes, it was certain that this fight would prove to be a decisive shift, a catastrophic shift… Not only for both Kiri and Ryuko, but for all of Honnouji Academy. For those watching would most assuredly take action once all was said and done, and they were given time to make their plans.
Oh, and Mankanshoku Mako was also there, waving towards her friend while wondering just why she was fighting her---
Moving on.
------------------------------------------
This was all something that Kiryuin Satsuki had predicted.
There is a reason that she went to retrieve her Wedding Dress after all, almost immediately after it was proven that someone was able to handle their power. There was only so much time that she could delay her mother, or her collaborators.
There was only so much time she could delay the inevitable, now that the cascade had been put into motion, the moment Kirishima Eijiro decided that Honnouji Academy’s current course of action could not stand, and had torn it down.
She didn’t regret that it happened, of course. Not when it had given her a weapon so potent as to be worth a thousand Honnouji’s, while also granting her a companion that finally understood her, that she could be herself in front of… but she digressed.
It didn’t change the fact that she had been put on the defensive.
And being defensive, meant that she was reacting, instead of acting.
Something that would need to change, once she returned.
But there was still a while to go yet, before the plane landed, so for now… she would focus on the trial ahead of her. The Godrobe Junketsu would prove to be a formidable opponent, and she had to gather all of the willpower necessary to break it to her will…
No matter what.
And to allow herself yet another moment of emotional sentimentality, something that was becoming rather common these days… She was aided in that rather eager endeavor, in her desire and willingness to get rid of the old, rotten family that she had been trapped in for so long, and finally move onto a new family that would bring her happiness… especially if her suspicions about Matoi Ryuko were proven true.
And maybe this was because she had been raised in such a wretched environment, enough to have warped her senses on such matters… but perhaps she had been a bit too eager when making that Wedding Dress Joke.
Yes, Kiryuin Satsuki let out a smile.
She imagined what the future would bring, and drew strength from those thoughts as her helicopter continued taking her toward her next opponent, all the while Ryuko Matoi and Kirishima Eijiro finally engaged each other in combat.
