Delta 1.7b4 - Updates to Multiplayer, Controller Skins, and more!

Happy 2025 Y’all!

To kick off the year, we have a new Delta beta for you with some fun new additions, including a more streamlined setup for DS Online Multiplayer, official support for using skins while a controller is connected, and improvements to the Screenshots feature 🎉

When using DS Online Multiplayer, you can now connect to WFC servers without the need to change the DNS settings yourself! Just select your preferred online server in Core Settings (Nintendo DS) and you’ll be connected automatically when you use Nintendo WFC features. You can choose from 3 preferred servers (Wiimmfi, WFCLink, and AltWC) or provide a custom DNS for another server if you prefer.

We’ve also added a new Game Settings option to the context menu for games in your library so you easily modify settings on a per-game basis. Toggle Open GL ES 3 (N64), choose which GBA cart is being emulated in your Dual Slot (DS), or even choose a different skin for each game!

And speaking of skins, we know many of you have been using skins with controllers unofficially (e.g by changing player 2 to “Touch Screen”), so we’ve now made this an officially supported feature! You’ll now see a “Controller” option at the top of the skin selection screen so that you can set a preferred skin for when a controller is connected.

Lastly, we’re preparing the “Game Screenshot” Experimental Feature for a public release so we’ve made the screenshot option appear by default in the pause menu. You can also map this directly to a controller button or use a skin with the dedicated “screenshot” button! Additionally, you will see a notification whenever a screenshot is taken letting you know it’s been added to a dedicated “Delta Screenshots” album in Photos. This feature was originally submitted to us by LitRitt - you can see his other work on GitHub including his very own fork of Delta, Ignited

Our next update will be 1.7rc, and we'll be focusing on fixing up bugs before releasing 1.7 for everyone, so please let us know if you run into any issues!
