Thanks so much again for loaning us a dollar. A single buck. A solitary greenback, a lone bill. An unaccompanied clam, an isolated banknote. We visited a library this month and got a library card and then we used it to check out a thesaurus. We used that to find synonyms for $1, which you surely noticed above.
Unfortunately, we were hungry, so we took it upon ourselves to eat the thesaurus. We couldn’t return it to the library and were charged a late fee of $1, which they enforced on the spot. This is obviously very hard for us to share with you all, but we won’t be able to return your $1. And we’ll also need to debit your card on file as the late charges persist, since we’re unable to return the copy we ate.
We don’t know how we’re going to get out of this one.
