Genuinely one of the most disconcerting small things for Lucian to get used to (besides... everything) was the lack of facial and body hair in his new body. Back before he died, he never really paid much attention to it besides considering it a bit of an inconvenience to shave in the morning. Now, the old habit of waking up and shaving just reminds him he's not who he was before. He doesn't necessarily miss it, but he does feel like it's another thing that makes this new experience foreign to him.

On a sweeter note, he takes up shaving Vigil's facial hair for him on occasion. When he's feeling particularly indulgent, he sits him down and goes the full nine yards, brushing his hair and giving him a trim while he's at it. He tends to get lost in thought in the process. Vigil hasn't brought it to his attention yet, but Lucian has a habit of humming when he gets into the groove of working on something. Most are foreign-sounding tunes to Vigil's ear, but sometimes if they've come across a bard in their travels, he'll find Lucian idly humming the songs they'd heard that day. The two of them don't actually talk too much in their downtime together. For as chatty as Lucian can be, he's naturally a rather taciturn man.

Back to hair: Lucian doesn't really know how to care for his own hair haha. He always kept it short back in the day, but he felt guilty chopping it all off as Lucian and before he knew it, he'd gotten attached to it. It was always something he'd wanted to try. The closest he'd got to long hair was a pretty unfortunate mullet when he was 18. He's grateful no one can see any photos of that particular phase in this new world. But as a result of that, he's a bit out of his depth taking care of such long, and incredibly straight hair. It's a completely different texture and the fact it dries so quickly kinda wigs him out.

If he ever finds some time to rest, figuring out a good hair care routine is top on his to-do list. Who knows? Maybe he'll try a new hairstyle. The bangs he has now do tend to get a bit annoying to deal with.
