Dax and Raven Mage!Lucian References
Added 2023-07-01 00:25:19 +0000 UTCI decided to try out artfight this year! I'm on there as poppypari as well, surprise surprise haha.
But I decided to make some references for my main guys so that at least some of them have an alright reference sheet. The ones I use for myself tend to be pretty messy so I tried my best to make details a bit cleaner here.
It's fun seeing how two of my main characters vary from each other. Dax has always been my warm tone guy and features a lot of character design aspects I have a personal bias towards. He's got a stronger build, a lot of body hair, and those really intense eyebrows I always love giving my characters. Oh yeah, and lots of moles. Also this particular type of hair that I've always adored drawing. Him and Vigil share a lot of similarities because Dax became a bit of a shorthand to Vigil's design just to make it easier for me to draw him (idk if that makes sense haha).
On the other hand, Lucian's got a lot more cooler tones and a body type I genuinely struggled to draw a lot. I've gotten better and he's been a great character to practice less muscular bodies. He's changed drastically over time and he's got plenty of AUs and different iterations, but at his core, he's always the same dorky ass guy with a lot of love to give. The raven mage version of him is definitely a bit more mischievous though LOL. But he deserves it as a little treat.
I'm excited to see if anyone will draw them or my other characters! I don't really know how artfight works too well, but we'll figure it out. Regardless, these references will be good in the future when I buy commissions of them.
