August 2023 update!

Wow, it's been awhile since I was actually able to make a little monthly update post!

First off, hi and welcome to new patrons and thank you for the support to old patrons. This is my first month going in after my contract so I'm no small part stressed, but there's a lot I want to do and a lot that's going to be posted this month.

I'll be most preoccupied preparing for San Japan where I'll be tabling as an indie artist there. That means no fanart so I'm planning on making some new illustrations to go as prints. I'm not expecting anything crazy since it's my first time and I get that original art isn't too popular haha. You'll be seeing a LOT of sticker designs from me though. I'm finally using this as an excuse to draw sooo many cute desserts and pretty flowers and stuff.

Another thing I'm doing is making a little zine! I'm using some of the pieces for prints too, but this is also an excuse to test out how to make a zine before I go too big and try to make an art book haha. I've posted some of the pieces previously and I will continue to update that post with new works as I finish them. In the next week, I'll also be making a Google form for anyone who's interested in buying one of the zines! 

I don't expect that I'll have too much time to work on Lucent itself beyond personal worldbuilding and outlines. Honestly, I'm a bit nervous about how well I'll be able to reach my arbitrary deadline of October to start posting the comic publicly. If all else fails, I'll move it, though it shouldn't affect my posting on Patreon too dramatically. If I do have to move my dates, y'all should expect to start getting episodes for Lucent by mid-late September. In the meantime, I'll be doing test pages of scenes to iron out the detail of the style I want to take for the comic. If there are any characters or scenes y'all would be interested in seeing, let me know! Yes, this also includes NSFW.

Which brings me to a quick note! Lucent will have adult scenes in the story. $3+ patrons have early access to the comic in general, however, for adult scenes containing graphic sex, panels will be censored appropriately. There will also be a warning placed in the beginning of the episode and an alternate version provided in either an attachment or other form without said scenes. If there are any important conversations during them, they will be included in a different form. $5+ patrons will get the full, uncensored version of the episode, posted as a separate upload.

Alright, with that out of the way, there's one last thing.

This is my first month not only sending out stickers but also sending out postcards I make myself. I've recently gotten a nice new printer and I'm seeing about doing home printing rather than ordering from a service. I apologize in advance that this month's postcard may not be of as good of quality as my previous ones because I have no idea what paper they use haha. I have a very nice quality double-sided matte photo paper that's 60lb. / 232 gsm for anyone who knows about these things. So it's like a light cardstock. My printer can be finicky with things as thick as bristol board paper so I'm trying to be careful.

Sorry, got distracted with paper there. That's all to say that I ask for a bit of patience while I make my own prints and stickers for y'all. I'll be making a poll for that later this week or next week and update when I'm in the process of making and shipping them out. Expect to be harangued by me once again to make sure I have y'all addresses! ESPECIALLY because I have different forms for different tiers!
