Behind the Scenes Blog
Added 2018-06-14 03:24:51 +0000 UTCSup guys. Gatsby here. So here's some private insight into the many pitfalls that you can run into as an amateur content creator on YouTube.
- Chase is basically our "sort editor." He takes the raw footage that I normally have an anxiety attack just trying to LOOK through, and removes all of the stupid stuff, turning about 2-3 hours of raw footage into about 30-35 minutes of "dat good shit," which I then can later boil down into about 10 minutes of Bro-Op
- Chase also recently contracted another worst-case-scenario computer virus recently. The kind of nonsense where reformatting is ACTUALLY the only option. His computer is out of commission for a hot minute.
- Meanwhile, I don't know if you've pieced this together about me yet, but I'm an actual anxious mess. I try not to take on more Bro-Op stuff than I can handle. So whenever Chase is unable to provide support, we're basically just on hiatus.
- The footage Chase will be working on (once he is able) is Bloodborne. Speaking of getting behind due to uncontrollable circumstances, we recorded the Bloodborne footage over half a year ago, probably.
- We're able to continue recording Stardew Valley until then, but Ian is also working the grind to try and make ends meet. When he is unable to attend streams, that leaves Chase, Candi, and I. When Chase's computer is possessed by the devil, that leaves Candi and I. And when we're honestly just coping with burnout and lack of interest, streams sometimes fall through.
- We get a lot of feedback about our content being "inconsistent," and that's absolutely true. It's exactly what happens in situations like these.
As of right now, we plan for our first stream on the new schedule to occur on the 16th, at 4PM CST. Sadly enough, we'll likely have to take the very next Saturday off, or at least move that stream. We're taking some time to play D&D as a family.
No, that won't be streamed, but wouldn't that be cool?
