Wednesday weigh-in: Valentine's D(el)ay

Hey friends,

Happy belated Valentine's Day! 💝 Oh, and pancake day the day before, too. 🥞 That's a lot of sugar for our ladies in two consecutive days!

And for the rest of us, too, it seems. For in Googling possible inspiration for Abby's Valentine's Day pic, I discovered that hospital admissions for gastrointestinal issues tend to increase considerably on Valentine's Day. Apparently the cause is not a nervous stomach, but too much rich food. And, I should imagine, too many chocolates. (Looking at you, Holly!)

Other than Lady Charlotte on her wedding night, I don't think I've ever had a character hospitalised by gluttony - though of course Hayley has come pretty close.

It's an idea I would like to revisit. The thought of somehow like Holly being rushed to hospital on Valentine's Day with suspected appendicitis, only to be diagnosed with indigestion from overeating, burning with embarrassment while she lies on a gurney with David patting her hand and nothing but her sexy lingerie beneath the hospital gown is a fairly tantalising one.

Though nowhere near hospitalised, I have, alas, been quite under the weather myself this week! The cold I thought I'd smothered with Berocca and hot water bottles leapt back out with a vengeance on Tuesday evening in the form of a racking cough - the kind that isn't too bad on its own, but wears you down by making it hard to sleep and enforces so much head-bobbing that you end up with a headache.

Hence the somewhat late and dry update, which I provide her with apologies. I am working on Abby's Valentine's pic - have come up with what feels like a fun concept, provided I can pull it off!

In happier news, before the headache kicked in I had a mini breakthrough with the next part of TLWL. If I can clear this head cold a bit tomorrow, I should be able to have both that and the Abby pic done over the weekend. 🤞
