This was almost as painful an overrating as the Undertale episode. I have to keep reminding myself not to take this podcast seriously. Vampire Survivors is a fancy Robotron. If you put your points into a couple specific areas, the game literally becomes Robotron, just with magic and monsters. The Rogue-like elements serve to pad out the gameplay and deceive you into believing you made progress. This isn't Dark Souls where you can fairly win at level 1 wielding a ladel. The game is literally impossible unless you level up. It's not a challenge, it's a battle of attrition. I know it's an unpopular opinion. I was riding the hype train at the start. I loved it for the first couple of days before the realization hit me. This game doesn't need vampires, it needs better and more critical analysis.
