When I'm exhausted, I like to just lay back, relax, strap on a diaper and let my worries float away. It's simple. Doesn't harm anyone. That's just how I relieve my stress.
That's how I found myself splayed out on the living room carpet, tongue out, trying to beat the heat by hibernating it away. What I really mean is I was moving as little as possible until the power came back on and I could use the AC. That's what happens when we have a heat wave.
While I was laying there, I heard a key in the door. By the time I paid enough attention to care, they were already coming in.
"Federal Bureau of Incontinence, this is a raid!"
"Wha? Who are you? The plumber?"
"No, it's the FBI. We heard a report of a very soggy woggy bear in here."
"Huh...that's weird. I don't see anyone in here but me...oh..." I gave a bashful little smile.
"Up and at, 'em, cub. You can't spend all day on the carpet like that."
It wasn't really the FBI, of course, but my friend and personal alarm clock, Earl the Otter. He always checked up on me to make sure I was doing alright, getting up, staying dry. Goodluck with the last one.
"Come on, you lazy lump." Emmet said, pulling my hand toward the bedroom. "Let's get you changed and dressed. Remember, we're going on a hike today!"
"Aww, man, Do we have to?"
On the hiking trail, I trudged along after Emmett. "Can't we take a break yet?"
"Not even five minutes walking and you're already complaining! Come on, let's go."
"I'm sweating through my shorts already," I retorted. "Isn't there an easier way to get in shape? One that doesn't involve moving?"
"Nnnope! The sooner we finish the hike, the sooner we can get you back home and in your cozy wozy diapees!"
"Hufffs! Okayyyy."
We finally had a chance to rest about three miles in. There was a nice view of the mountains and canyons in the distance.
"This loop is pretty level," Said Emmet, Resting beside me on a rocky outcropping overlooking sycamore canyon. "The car did most of the climb for us."
"Yay technology."
Emmett gave me a long look and blurted out, "I wanna show you something."
We found ourselves winding up the rocks, suddenly the trail became a climb, and I was genuinely testing my limits.
"You're suddenly very quiet, friend. Something happen?"
"I'm too busy trying not to die," I said, finding the handholds and footholds to support my weight. "You said it wasn't far!"
"It's not," He huffed, "Almost...there..."
Suddenly, an opening appeared in the rock. We had reached a ledge. A shallow cave lay behind it.
"This is it."
"Is it? Oh thank goodness." I said, collapsing and kissing the rock.
"You do know we're only, like, 50 feet up."
"That's like, five bearlengths!"
"Inside, the cave, silly billy." He nudged me forward into the cave. Inside it was covered in graffiti and graffiti art. Inexplicably there was a couch against the lower half of the cave, It looked surprisingly comfortable. The upper half sat on a ledge and a rope net was set into the stone, like a giant hammock.
"A couch!" I cried, leaping onto the soft cushions. "How?"
"People have been coming here a long time. They brought it here. It's a special place, I'm glad you like it."
He slid onto the couch next to me, and raised his eyebrows. "Soooo...."
'Oh boy, here it comes,' I thought.
"Have you thought about-"
"Yes, I've thought about your offer," I said. "And I still just want to be friends."
"Because of Peyton?"
"Yes, because of Peyton. You know I would never betray him."
"Your Daddy's gone, Gary. I'm not. Be mine."
"You know I want to...but.."
"But nothing," he said, bringing his muzzle up to mine. I felt his whiskers brush against my lips and it took my breath away.
"I..." I looked into his eyes, and then brought my muzzle forward sinking into a deep kiss.
I could feel that passion cutting through the layers of despair I had wrapped myself in day by day for the past three months. I didn't want to end the kiss, and neither did he. Eventually we broke it off, and he pulled his head back, slowly blinking away the ecstasy of the moment. I began to speak before coherent thought had regained its foothold in my mind.
"Emmett...th-that was-"
"Please," He said, placing a paw on my chest and fixing me with his keen gaze once more, "call me Daddy."
