Weekly Update: Feb 9th

Welcome! This is the first of my weekly updates!   
It made me so damn happy to see a couple of people join up within the first week, you guys are so, so amazing and generous, and I'll do my best to make it worthwhile! 

My thoughts for these posts (and I'm open to suggestions!) are mostly updates on WIP projects and rambling about the things I do and don't like about writing. Please do let me know if you want to hear me babble about anything in particular, if there's a specific thing you love to read, etc!

This week in WIPs: 

I have three main WIP projects at the moment, all of which I'm super excited about – more excited than I've been about almost any of my fics, to be honest! 

As you may have seen, I'm working on a smutty friends-with-benefits fic which I've posted the early chapters of for Patrons to read. It will be eight total (if you hadn't guessed from the title, haha) and has been a lot of fun to plan out, though writing it is a little harder since I always feel like I'm not doing justice to my ideas. 

My ideas folder right now is literally about 80 fics, and this is purely the BNHA folder. I swear every time I finish a fic I get three more ideas. Each of the folders in this screenshot has at least one fic in it, sometimes a long fic and sometimes a series. It's gonna take me forever to get through it but heck, I'll do my best.

It does mean that some of my ideas have been lingering for a while, though, and “8 Simple Rules” is one of those. The FWB concept hit me right near the beginning of my BNHA fanfic career and it has slowly been developing since, based on a few key plot points. I've had the ending longer than I've had any of the rest OOPS so look forward to that! 

The second story I've been working on is what I call “Fork in the road” which is the closest I've ever come to writing an AU so far. It's a Quirkless Izuku story (based on All Might never giving him One For All, thus he fails the U.A. entrance exam) which I know a lot of people have done before, but I'm hoping it will still be entertaining haha. Playing with the way Izuku's and Katsuki's friendship would have developed without Izuku getting into U.A. has been a lot of fun. It's gonna be a long one, so it's still... months away. Oops.

And finally, the one I'm both the most excited and the most nervous about, is a Family Fic where Katsuki and Izuku are married and learn to raise their two kids. I feel like it would be spoilers to give away too much, but this will be the first time I ever have OCs (the kids) heavily featured in a story. That's what makes me nervous about it, since I don't know how people respond to that, but honestly I could write everything up til the younger kid turns 21 with no hesitation because I just have their whole lives mapped out in my head at this point. I'm loving it way too much and just hoping someone else will get some enjoyment from it too!!

Goal Updates:

Every year I set myself a writing goal. For the past three years or so it has been based on a word count I want to hit, but after hitting 520k (10k a week) last year I haven't found a new number I like the sound of. My main goal for 2019 is to post at least one fic a month, which I'm so far doubling haha. The other was to get back to my original novels more, which I haven't so far (oops again) but hey, it's a long year.

As I said earlier, please feel free to let me know if there's anything you want to hear about in these updates, or even if you have requests for exclusive content! This will become a thing for sure, I just haven't decided exactly what I'm gonna do with it yet.   I'm gonna round this out with a song of the week (because why not?) which will usually be something I've played on repeat a lot while writing this week!
