Response from Kal: From my end I decided that in order to unpack the story and why it sucks on a layered level - it would require basically spoiling the ENTIRE narrative for people that cared about that (you shouldn't in YIIKs case) but I didn't want to make people bounce off the episode over concerns about that. So I just went with a trust us approach, if we were to do actually coverage on it then it would be a entirely spoilers discussion and it being a separate conversation was going to be preferable.

Sometimes the best way to talk about something is to talk *around* it -- talk about your littler likes and dislikes, talk about the dusty corners of your life, talk about what the core thing makes you *think* about beyond just itself. Hey, if you HG maniacs want to ramble on like this about every other game, that's actually pretty cool. I guess I like hypnosis by circuitous discussion.

2024-03-26 00:40:15 +0000 UTCAs someone who is basically unaware of the controversy surrounding this game, this was pretty frustrating to listen to. An hour and forty five minutes of talking over each other, without any real context as to why it was it was so poor from a literary standpoint, makes for a pretty unsatisfactory listen. So I guess this is a vote for another episode to analyze the writing, because I'm left completely at a loss as to why this was so long and meandering.
