The paperback copies are still processing in Amazon's system, but they should be ready by tomorrow. When that's done, I'll be ordering copies for everyone at the $20+ tiers.
Sorry this has taken so long. The first draft was completed sometime back in November 2023, but this took a long time to edit even though it's not that much longer than typical HG101 books.
Basically, editing goes through a few steps. First, I paste the text (either from the site or from a document file) into the design template, and edit it so everything fits. Then, it gets passed along to a copy editor who cleans up the text, double checks the spelling of names and terms, and so forth. Then it gets passed onto a proofreader, who triple checks everything, especially to ensure there weren't any extra mistakes added in. Finally, I give it one last pass myself, which also includes various quality control checks, like ensuring the pictures are aligned, there's no duplicated screenshots, there's no text overflow, and so forth.
There are three separate people in this process, including myself. Well, the copy editor had a rough time at his day job, then the proofreader was out of town for a few weeks, and then the final document came in the middle of my own busy season at my day job. Everything had taken so long I had to order another hard proof just to ensure everything looked okay!
Anyway, the good news is is that the next book, themed on Sega Master System/Genesis games, shouldn't take nearly so long, and should be ready at some point in the middle of the year. Look forward to more info on this soon! We actually posted a cover sketch about a year or two ago, and it's also been delayed for a variety of reasons, it's finally coming together!
