Weekly Update - Aug 17th
Added 2019-08-17 03:59:51 +0000 UTCWe're back again! Sorry for the missed blog last week, I'm dealing with a hand injury and wasn't really able to type, so it slipped my mind. Things are starting to improve now, I'm still taking it easy but I can type in short bursts without too much pain.
I hope you've enjoyed the recent couple of fics! I know people are always waiting for more Little Sh*t fics (the first part is at almost 4k kudos on Ao3, it's insane??) so hopefully it lived up to the standard people expect! I'm working on another one that will hopefully go up soon too, it's been a long while in the making and I'm hyped!
Preview below if you're keen on spoilers!
This week in WIPs:
So the fic I'm working on right now is about Bakugou losing his hearing because of his quirk. It's a lot of Bakugou feeling broken/torn about the idea of accepting help (mostly in the form of hearing aids) and Midoriya doing his best to be supportive along the way as Bakugou comes to terms with it all.

Now I just have to decide if I should write The Sex into it or not.
Writing Tips??:
I'm still not sure if any of these little tangents are useful to anyone, but I'll keep spouting them occasionally just in case.
Getting some distance from your work
One of the biggest problems I have with my writing is that I see it too often. After you read a scene twelve dozen times it becomes dull and boring and poorly written no matter how good it may have seemed at the start.
My remedy for this, is I refuse to read my own work as I'm writing it.
Whenever I stop, I scrawl a quick note at the end of the document about what I was working on or where it was heading, and when I come back I just continue to write from there.
This probably comes from my background as an editor, but I find it much easier to just have it all on paper then go back later to fix things, rather than trying to read and reread and edit as I go to keep everything in line.
When I think I'm finished, I give it a day or two, then read it from the beginning (with some edits along the way). Do I occasionally come across a major plothole I'd forgotten about because it took a long time to write? Yes, absolutely. Have I ever been unable to fix said plothole? No. Editing is King.
Not only does this make the writing more exciting (because I've forgotten I wrote half the stuff, or at least forgotten the exact wording), but it makes it easier to spot typos and spelling errors, because being less familiar with the words means your brain is less likely to just fix it as it reads.
And yeah, for my longer stuff, there are scenes that have been read to death in my head no matter what I do. I have one super long fic where I just skip over the first chapter or two every time I read because I can't face them anymore. Maybe I'll rewrite them later, maybe I'll live with it and hope it's better than my mind claims it is - only time will tell.
As usual, feel free to let me know if you have any questions or requests! Take care, have a great week, and look forward to the next content!
P.S. if you have any great ear/sound/hearing puns that could work as a fic title hit me up

I'm 100% bottom Baku fan too lol, I think it would mostly be Deku praising him and making him feel good and special. He's not 100% deaf but if it got far enough to be useful Deku would absolutely be fluent in JSL before Kacchan had even considered the idea haha Thank you for the kind words <3 also Hear me out is a good one!!

2019-08-18 08:00:42 +0000 UTCThank you!! <3 It's a recurring injury so I'm kind of used to it/know how to handle it now lol, it's more annoying than painful.

2019-08-18 07:58:55 +0000 UTC"Listen" "Hear Me Out"??? lmao, but I do think the concept of bakugou losing his hearing is a real possibility and I think what deku could do is learn JSL/ASL for bakugou so he doesnt have to feel so alone and misunderstood throughout it all. I personally vote for 'the sex' but as really pure, slow, sweet lovemaking that bakugou now has to focus on sensation rather than noises of satisfaction from his partner. I'm a bottom Baku fan, but really it could go either way. if he tops, he is more attentive and needs more permission and communication. if he bottoms then he can just be load af and no one would care. like I'm just excited for the fic! you always right so pretty and your flow is fantastic. I hope your hand continues to get better!💜

2019-08-18 04:14:20 +0000 UTCI’m sorry you had a hand injury, but I’m super glad you are felling better. Hopefully you’ll be at 110% as soon as possible, and that is not causing you to much pain. I’ll be at the look out for sound/hearing puns for the tittle!
