The peculiarity of printing

Not everyone succeeds in printing the cassette.

I made the gap between the reel and the body 0.18mm. Usually in the slicer I set the value "wall width" to 0.3mm, layer height 0.15mm. This feature is due to the fact that I have several printers. I am guided by the one with a nozzle of 0.3 mm. As a result, this is not very convenient, since later you have to adjust the slicer parameters to the design. This is certainly not convenient for ordinary users.

Now, in order to print the cassette with a 0.4mm nozzle, you need to set the parameter "horizontal expansion" -0.05mm (negative value), although you can try -0.03mm. Otherwise, the reel will not rotate at all.

Now I try printing with a nozzle of 0.4 mm with a gap of 0.25 mm, the height of the layer is 0.2mm. The file is in the shared folder so far as a test.

Snap.stl printing is necessary using a raft, as the part is very small (everything else with a skirt)

You may not be worried about the "elephant leg" effect, the gap of the first layers is even greater.

The smaller the gap in the finished print, the better the reel will eventually rotate

I wanted to make a not big keychain. Such dimensions seemed optimal. If you print to a larger scale, you do not need to change the horizontal expansion parameter (default is zero)

btw, perhaps you will print on a larger scale model, if you have a larger index finger, I should make a table of ratios of finger diameter - print scale 🙂

One of the sides of the cassette is free, I can make any name there, if you need it, it's not difficult for me to do.

Strange, but in the mobile app, the gif animation does not work for me. Informativeness disappears 🤔
