The model I've wanted to make for a long time is a 58mm lens cap shaped like an Oreo cookie πͺ.

I once made a commemorative eclipse magnet in 2024. It wasn't by chance that I set the outer diameter of that design to 60mmβit was meant for the lens cap π
As you can see, I went through quite a few iterations. In the first one, I immediately abandoned the convex surface like the original Oreoβmine is recessed.

I decided this would be the bottom side, and printing it flat on the bed would give better surface quality.
To prevent the compressed edges from falling out of the cap, I made a tapered gap.
The springβs length allows insertion from the far side.

To reduce friction between the spring and the cap, I added a slight lift. The spring itself also has a recess to minimize friction and jamming. In the final version, the spring is stiff enough to hold the cap securely on the lens.
I also made a clip that attaches to a strap and holds the lens cap.

The ring acts as a lens emulator, but Iβll leave it as an optional partβyou can attach two caps on opposite sides, making it a full Oreo cookie.

As a bonus, I added three versions with "Canon," "Sony," and "Nokon" inscriptions.
