Simon is the first person other than Erik who just sees Wille for who he is and not WHAT he is. Should a 16 yr old kid make life decisions based in a romance? Probably not. But Simon gives him the courage to accept who he is and that being king ain't it.

And it's always so agressive and straight-to-the-point. I refuse to believe that is the correct portrayal of gay men intimacy. Wille and Simon are breathing each other, kissing for real (you can see tongue and spit), caressing each other gently. I want to believe that this represents intimacy in gay relationships more accurately.

Especially when Wille didn’t speak up- which isn’t necessarily his fault, but it makes sense that Simon probably felt that decision reeeeaallly deeply.

Simon confirming that he is reporting August to the police made Wille realize that his only way out of the pressure of the royal family and the throne, a possibility that he only just learned about, was yanked out from under him. The scene with the tailor was really telling to me as well. The tie symbolized the throne and the royal court which he feels completely suffocated by.

2025-02-13 04:24:46 +0000 UTCI agree. As much as I love Heartstopper, and I do, Edvin and Omar's chemistry is unmatched in anything else I've ever seen. Omar's performance is incredible, especially since it's his first professional acting role. But Edvin's performance is absolutely breathtaking to me. He completely inhabits the character of Wilhelm. And the way he portrays emotions is so so real to me.

Omar was chosen for the role based upon a chemistry read. Their chemistry is off the charts. (I witnessed it again in London last week. I was one lucky American.) You will note that the episodes are complex. The writers had to tell this story in only six episodes per season. That adds to the roller coaster aspect.

In terms of what I think about the whole situation (just adding my two cents even though no one asked lol) - I think that video being leaked was so violating for Simon and only he felt the true consequences of that, only his face was shown. Yes, Wille has had to deal with the fallout of the video in his own way but I don't think it compares to the whole world seeing your face in a sex tape, having paparazzi harass you about it and then the crown prince go on TV and deny you. I think Simon was really alone in that specific pain. So Wille keeping the fact that he knew who did it secret and then afterwards telling him not to go to the cops coz August is his backup didn't feel fair at all. I love Wille but I do think Simon was right when he compared Wille to his mother because a lot of what he does mirrors what she does. I think also, it always seems to me that Simon has less agency in all the drama. He didn't choose to be the face of that video but Wille did choose to deny the video and leave Simon alone in it. Simon didn't even know that August leaked that video and Simon chose to keep that from him and 'take matters into his own hands'. It just always feels like Wille has more power and control. I'm sure the writers were alluding to something about hierarchies with that. Anyway, that's my two cents lol.

Simon has to do what's right for himself. It's just sad that Wille is stopped at every turn when he tries to do right by himself. I'm not blaming that on Simon, he's sixteen. I firmly blame Wille's parents. You nailed it. Felice needs a metal for her being on Wille patrol so much. I adore the character but because of his life and how he was raised, he is one of the most self-involved characters out there but also not. I think Sara called it when they were talking about the book with how Malin is projecting all these things on Siv, making her the end all be all. That's what Wille is doing, I think. At the beginning he had an cute crush. But then Erik died and Wille was spinning, he latched onto Simon. Simon came into his life almost the same time Erik left it. Two people that care for him and aren't afraid to show it. It was a easy thing to happen.

I think he realized right at that table that now that Simon plans to report August, he will no longer have a reserve and his life is doomed to throne, no matter what. He got a severe panic attack and threw up and dissociated and had to go to bed and nap to survive. I know how that situation feels and Edvin portrayed that beautifully. He has said he also suffers of anxiety, so that scene probably was meaningful to him.

The writing is so good, that you guys are making often right assumptions of what happens next, but then something else happens and the whole scenario you built in your mind will be demolished. And no, they are not just making out 😘😂 You are right about their chemistry. That thang that happened in London last week continues to make (and keep) the fandom feral. The video from that moment has gathered 13 MILLION views in TikTok in one week! Even Netflix activated around YR one year after the S3 finale and posted couple of days ago in Twitter a meme, which beautifully mixes WILHELM and OMAR (not Wilhelm and Simon or Edvin and Omar).
