Simon's "I love you" in this episode closes the loop on the "I'm sorry. I love you" that Wilhelm says to Simon at the close of season 1, after he has denied it's him in the video. I think Simon's commitment of what Wilhelm means to him, his voicing of trust in Wilhelm and a desire to try to be together amid all the other drama and chaos (drugs, video, August, line of succession, Sara's betrayal) – even if it has to be a secret (which also suggests that Simon too is understanding better the complex pressures and restrictions of Wilhelm's position) – is what imbues Wilhelm with enough courage to claim some truth for himself by going off-script. You're right that he doesn't really come out, because that's not really what Young Royals is about; it's more that he is claiming agency in his own life, for who he is, and what he cares about and wants (in this case, it's Simon, which of course means that Wille is queer, but I don't think Wilhelm or the show is every particularly interested in defining his identity per se).

The episode just kept taking us to new places and we loved every second. The information on the monarchies is really interesting- it makes a lot of sense to not have a Queen's husband titled "King", just in a name/power dynamic sense. We love our nordic/scandinavian neighbors for always pushing for good, they've always been first to things of that nature.

Also, one of my favorite stills from the whole series is the psychologist smirking and biting his nail when Wille goes off-script and says back what he learned in therapy.

As Simon turns out the light the lava lamp by his bed, which is clear, turns bright red (Wille's ambient color.) I like to think this symbolizes Simon deciding to agree to Wille's request for them to be together as a secret. Probably just a coincidence but I like the image. I would love to know.

I don’t know if you heard what Simon said after he said ”I want to be with you” (standing in the hallway with Wille) he followed up with, ”if it has to be a secret, let it be. If there is no other way. I think Wilhelm though after Simon said so that he didn’t really want to be Wilhelms secret but agreed to. So after getting the confirmation that Simon loves him, Wilhelm went public with their relationship to show his love back. There isn’t anything Wilhelm wouldn’t do for Simon💜💙. Smart choice? Well let’s see in the next season.

But this was the first time I put together that no one ever said "I love you" to Wille in the entire show up to this point. I'm guessing that no one had said those words to Wille since he was a little boy.

The right side of his mouth (left on camera) just barely barely curls up into the slightest smirk. Edvin's acting is so breathtaking to me. I really love how this show uses repetition and bringing back scenes, lines, symbolism, etc. to carry themes forward, like Wille looking into the camera at the very beginning and very end of each season; Wille saying I love you at the end of season one and Simon saying it at the end of season 2; the red lighting in season one when Wille is texting Simon about missing rowing practice and making up his mind to go after Simon, and the little rocket lamp changing to red as Simon is going to sleep after he discusses with Ayub about making the decision to be with Wille and keep it a secret. The writing is just so so good. Look out for more of these parallels in season 3.

One thing I love most about this show, outside the incredible acting, writing, and cinematography, is that it is never ever predictable! Loved your reaction 😁

I completely love the shooting range scene! Willie had enough of August's crap. However, August, Willie and Simon all have done bad things. Stealing and selling drugs, framing someone for it and leaking a sex tape. Loving your reactions to this series and look forward to season 3's vids.

2025-02-16 03:27:57 +0000 UTCLOVED your reaction as always guys! :) i literally wait for a notification that you've posted a new one and my excitement revolves around it haha. im in australia, so most the time the vids are posted really early in the morning - but always enjoy seeing you react to this great series. it was such an awesome season finale - the shooting range scene is arguably one of the most tense scenes in the whole series as far as pure drama goes. i think most people held their breath when they watched it the first time - because it's just such a crazy, unexpected action from wille. it also shows how much he really cares about simon and wanted to get answers for him. as others have said - most monarchies have some sort of similar structure - but what you said is correct. the queen inherited the crown from her father, so she is the monarch and her husband is the duke. the same happened in the UK royal family - queen elizabeth IIs husband prince phillip was also referred to as the duke. as is now the case in the UK - prince charles became king charles and he chose to have his wife titled as "queen camilla" but that was a "consort" after it. the consort meaning she has no actual power, but is the wife of the king. usually, in the UK the "consort" title is only given to females. the UK also doesnt have a "crown prince" as such - they are all just princes - but one is the obvious successor/heir. sweden i believe just before or after young royals aired the first season, it gained a lot of media attention and the royal family brought out a statement saying that an heir being gay would not hold them back from ascending to the throne (which is excellent in my opinion). the nordic / scandi countries are always at the forefront of being progressive. can't wait to see you guys react to season 3!! also, please be sure to react to "young royals forever" afterwards - which is a special going behind the scenes of the shooting of season 3 and showing the atmosphere on set and with the cast and crew.

Glad y'all are loving it !!💗 about the I love you, Wille was actually the first one who said it at the end of season 1 when they departed ways. this is Simon's first time saying it back to Wilhelm that he loves him too also, August already knows that the Royal family is aware that he was the one who leaked the video, if you remember when the queen called him in, she told him they knew but also was when she revealed that he'll be Wilhelm backup plan. That's why when he heard about Simon going to report him, he tries to go to Olaf to let him know but was dismissed to figure it out on his own As with sarah, at the shooting range when Wilhelm confronted August and she revealed that it was her who told him, she said "last winter", which told all of them that she has known since the beginning from when the video was leaked, so now they know that she knew, but on top of that, that she has known since literally before any of them I can't wait for y'all to get into season 3 !! sadly it's the final season and we won't get more but I can't wait for y'all to see it !! Hopefully soon !!🫶

2025-02-15 23:13:27 +0000 UTCSeason 3 Edvin and Omar said they no longer needed intimacy cordinator. A little bit of choreography yes, but then they just went and "did it" all. And it shows. They are even more comfortable and natural than in S1 and S2, which already were super natural.

If you remember when he went to meet the Queen, she mentioned that he had betrayed the family. Also, now they know that Sarah knew that August leaked the video a long time ago, coz in that scene at the shooting range they mentioned that she knew last winter. Finally, Wille said 'I love you' to Simon first at the end of last season. So now it came full circle with Simon saying it back. Loved your reaction! The way you both leaned forward when it seemed like Sarah was about to out her friend 😂😂😂 I love how complex all of these characters are. Because August is really so terrible in so much of what he does, but I think he really loves Sarah. So reconciling his love for Sarah with the fact that he's an utterly selfish person is always so hard.

Linda tells her kids she loves them all the time. Erik seemed to be the one to give Wilhelm affection, from the first episode, and when they talked up to seeing the memory of getting the snowglobe and seeing the pictures where it wasn't a staged one looking. The one where they are hugging that was on Erik's mirror.

The first scenes in the same place where it starts (trying to be vague now to not spoil anything), so so funny and beautiful and happy and hot. 🔥

The way his face changes and how his eyes open to almost like confirm that it's not a dream, it's reality, Simon LOVES ME. And then the sigh of relief. SO BEAUTIFUL. That scene is one my favorites. The chemistry, the tension, nothing big happening but still the most important moment of the entire season. And of course Jan-Olof totally fed up with that gay shit 🤣🤣🤣

Simon was willing to stay secret and closeted, but that choice and Simon's first "I love you" made Wille so confident and happy, that he also compromised and chose Simon over the Royals. And him outing them both in national television ( although it probably got cut) was him reaching out back to Simon. He knew Simon wanted to be public, so he gave him that and went full on. I love it!!!!

I cannot understand that he was 19 at the time. He is one of the best actors of his entire generation. He can do minimal, subtle microexpression AND he can totally overreact and be super aggressive. His gun handling was also on point. The film that he did after S2 is not released yet, but he plays a soldier in Bosnia war. Probably was already training how to handle weapons.

August says in Season 1 Episode 1, "We could kill someone and no one would say anything,,," Here in Season 2 Episode 6, with a gun to August's chest, Wille says, "The Royal Family is good at covering up accidents, right August?" Chord resolved.

You can pick what you're called. Queen Elizabeth's husband was Prince Phillip. I'll comment more after I finish.
