I know I'm a little late to the party, but still wanted to drop this little hidden gem that I don't think has been commented on yet: 'The Green Carnation Flower' that Wilhelm is wearing at the public ceremony for his birthday, is one of the earliest known symbols of LGBTQ+ identity, made famous by Oscar Wilde in the late 19th century. This episode is heartbreaking in so many ways, but that small gesture shows Wille starting to take a stance 💚
