Developer Diary 3.

Hello everyone,

Continuing our tradition of weekly development updates!

Last week wasn’t the most productive, but I finally got around to working on the sex animations. So far, I’ve finished 4 out of 20 planned animations and created several dozen renders for the alpha demo version of the game. My goal is to make 2–3 animations per day, but yesterday I only managed one and a half… I tweaked one of the previous day’s animations, created a new one, and then spent a loooong time trying to make an alternate version of the same animation from a different angle. You’d think it would be as simple as copying it and changing the camera angle—but nope. I started fussing with facial expressions, adjusting the animation length, and in the end, instead of just changing the camera, I wasted four or five hours reworking it, only to realize it still wasn’t what I wanted. I had to simplify the task… So, one and a half animations in a day. Kind of depressing.

And it’s all because of Daz3D—a tool that’s both amazing and terrible at the same time. Its animation tools are a disaster, but trying to create animations in other software like Cascadeur and then importing them back into Daz3D is even worse. After three years and lots of experiments, I’m still sticking with doing everything in Daz3D for now.

Still, I’m aiming for higher animation quality compared to my last game—at least that’s the goal.

No spoilers for you yet, sorry!

Anyway, I’ll try to speed things up so I can release the demo build before the end of July. Hopefully sooner, but that’s my final deadline.

Why that date? My apartment lease is expiring, and I’m planning to take a short vacation—two weeks in Europe for a bit of scouting. I need to decide where I’ll be living next. Of course, I’m not bringing my 22kg desktop PC (not counting the monitor) on the trip, so after publishing the demo, the next update will probably be in about a month.

For now, back to work. The goal for today: three animations!!!!!111!! At least…
