Shine Bright

One thing people always ask me is, "How do you have the courage to share that about yourself online?" And obvs, it wasn't easy peasy lemon squeezy shit. For years I valued my privacy and was generally always afraid to share my work online out of potential judgement, whether it be my skill level, my opinion, my style etc.

I gradually came out of my shell by introducing one new small fact about me in every post, starting with some rated G stuff, and eventually reaching the rated R stuff. And honestly, I never really found my stuff REALLY rated R. It was mostly about topics that  are considered "forbidden" to be talked about to some people  (from facing rejection, to UTIs, to bishez with vaginas problems, to dildos.)

By talking about my own personal experiences regarding these "forbidden" topics (which shouldn't even be "forbidden"), I received so many comments and messages saying how I helped a bish be more confident, confront that issue in their own life, or feel connected / validated. I did not know that simple comics about my UTIs or dildo story could touch people in such a deep way NO PUN INTENDED LOL.

So when people ask me how I have the courage to post things like that online, it's by remembering that 1) nobody really cares other than me LOL and 2) someone out there could appreciate it. In no way am I telling bishez to reveal their lives to the world if they don't want to, but if you have stuff you want to share, and you think someone can be positively influenced by it, you can always start by speaking your truth.
