I feel like sometimes we underestimate the power of relaxation and taking a break. Sometimes we overwork ourselves and feel unproductive when we're not in our regular working routines. We forget that those intermissions of our day to days are actually where our inspiration and content comes from, especially for creatives.
I used to (and still) get antsy during hiatus periods and vacations, but I have to remind myself that its important to live life in order to create life (as many other artists have told me before). Sometimes I catch myself just doing meaningless work just for the sake of feeling productive when it really doesn't fulfill me.
So not only is it important to just plan your work stuff out, but it's also important to plan breaks, vacations, time to spend with people you care about. Without those moments I had in life, I would have had no comics or stories to share. Whenever I get a little shakey during vacations or downtime, I just remind myself about how this is valuable time I'll never get back. I'm always going to be returning back to my normal life routine, so might as well live in the moment. #motivationmonday
