LOVE LANGUAGE: Acts of Service

I used to not 100% understand acts of service because I wondered, "Well, it feels weird to think of my partner as my maid or something 🤨." But after moving in together and going through life for a good amount of time, I realized it's not as materialistic as it sounds. Life is unfortunately (or fortunately) always gonna get busier with more responsibilities piling up, including living with your partner. As someone who pretty much lived alone for almost 7 years after moving to LA, relearning to coexist with someone was different from my independent life. Not only do I have to take care of the things in my own life, but we both have to take care of the things we share as well. There are gonna be times where the pile of responsibilities overloads and can cause a huge amount of stress and pressure on one or the other partner. I'm someone who tends to hide my stress, but when the pain / stress is acknowledged by my boyfriend, and he's able to take off some of that weight off of your shoulders, it makes me feel seen and cared for :') Anyway our 5 year anniversary was just this past weekend, so this was just a comic I made for it!
