2023-02-02 15:04:54 +0000 UTCBroke up with my long term boyfriend in October and got back out there pretty quickly (end of November ish) and have met up with a few people casually for coffee/ lunch etc. A few of my friends and family who know the situation have been very judgemental about it even though I've made it clear there's nothing going on. I'm currently living at home so I understand having to inform parents that I won't be in the house but don't feel like I should have to give anymore information then that besides a time I plan to get back. Im 21f and take appropriate measures to make sure I stay safe. Would you have any ideas on how to approach the subject of needing a little privacy/ letting me do my own thing as an adult

2023-02-01 15:48:42 +0000 UTCI wouldn’t have gave her a lift at all, sounds like she was using you for a favour so you shouldn’t have drove her in the first place (but I get you were just doing something nice) and didn’t like you telling her what to do with the seatbelt thing. I mean personally I am not bothered if a passenger doesn’t want to wear a seatbelt but if you are bothered then they should respect your rules as it is your car

Besides expectation vs reality aside, she was a let down and a ‘Naca’ those are latina versions of ‘Chavs’ or low life. She one time asked me to borrow my pickup truck, but she doesn’t have a license or insurance, so no. I was generous to offer her a ride to her job at the ‘Mercado’ it was like 10 minute drive, she got on the passenger side but she didn’t put her seat belt. I told her to put on your seatbelt but she responded with an aggressive tone, “What?! Are we going to crash or drive?!” My brain had to reboot and to this day I just can’t get over that. As a bonus, I drove and I hit the brake real hard, she hit the glove compartment and her phone flew of her hands. So here’s the question SGT Ducky, what would you do if you where in my situation.
