I did not post this week. I could not fully work for you. My mom did surgery so I was only 40% there. Everything is okay now, she has a new knee. Something high tech made ("print?") exactly for her bones shape. Thank you France for the health system! Lots of taxes here BUT it's great in these moments.

It can be imagined that the required shape and size is determined by means of imaging diagnostics (X-ray / CT / MRI) and then the parts are assembled and screwed together like from a construction kit. In modern endoprostheses usually 5+ parts are processed. I know of attempts to use 3D printers for the production of prostheses. However, this is not yet possible to my knowledge due to the materials used (medical steel/ plastic and certain precious metals).I wish her a speedy recovery and that she will listen to her doctor about the aftercare and all the things that she should be aware of. Most problems are caused by improper follow-up by the patient :).
