I'm still on my new characters. I can't wait to color that teacher and her satin shirt. There is some potential.
I need 2 other characters, and I will have all the main protagonists of the new story.

So I would say "Charles Dexter Ward case" and that kind of twisted character story is the big inspiration. The player will work for a Joseph Curwen-like character.
