Looks like the NBA playoff series pattern is stuck on the coincidence phase:

In the 21st NBA playoff game we saw Celtics upset Nets to drop the series 2-1

In the 31st NBA playoff game, we saw Wizards upset 76ers to drop the series 3-1

Tonight was the 42nd NBA playoff game and Mavericks did not complete the cycle to end the series 4-2.

Now the Mavericks face the other side of the NBA playoff pattern that doesn't bold in their favor:

In the 36th NBA playoff game Wizards sat on 36 wins for the season to end their season

In the 38th NBA playoff game Grizzlies picked up 38th loss to end their season

Game 7 is now on Sunday after Hawks and Sixers which makes it the 45th game of the NBA season and Maverick's will come into this game sitting on 45 wins for the season.

And since the Clippers didn't get their 74th post season loss, but instead, got their 74th h2h all time win against Mavericks, this being the 75th NBA season, they now have a shot to end it in game 7 against Mavs by getting their 75th all time h2h win against.
