No, I love it! That’s an amazing history. Mine is very boring. I live where I was born, which is where my parents and grandparents were born, at some point in the past, my people came from some other places. That’s about all I know 😂

I'm only technically a Scot, unfortunately. I have no Scottish family or ancestors. My parents met while working at a hotel at Rannoch but I left Scotland as a baby with my New Zealand born mother. Actually 90% of my ancestors (on both sides) were Irish. On my Mum's side we are descended from two brothers who emigrated during the famine (the only survivors of a family of ten) and founded a farm called "Peatlands" in South Canterbury in NZ. My Dad's parents were actually born in Ireland but emigrated to England, where my Dad was born. Ahem, sorry for the Ted Talk about my genealogy!

Yeah, what I've heard since has made me pretty firm about staying away from anything that came after 😂 I didn't realize you're a Scot, that's so awesome. Sorry about the times I say weird stuff, I'm really into Scotland and Scottish stuff. It's a borderline problem with me 🤭

Yay! This has long been a favourite of mine, and I totally hear you about extra points given to a Queen soundtrack. There is something wonderfully absurd in having a Scotsman playing an Egyptian posing as a Spaniard - who famously cannot sound like anything but a Scotsman. I adore Sir Sean, and am proud to boast that we were born in the same hospital - the Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion in Edinburgh. Christophe Lambert was equally laughable - a Frenchman playing a Scot with a very heavy French accent. I actually used to study with a guy who looked just like Clancy Brown (The Kurgan, and who by the way was actually in The Shawshank Redemption.) The "romantic" relationship was just trash but the cast was awesome. James Cosmo (Braveheart, Game Of Thrones,) Jon Polito (Miller's Crossing, The Crow,) Celia Imrie (Bridget Jones, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,) Hugh Quarshie (Wing Commander, Star Wars Ep 1,) and many others. It feels like the cast (and soundtrack) are better than it deserved. I still adore it, hokiness and all. At this point I should warn you about Highlander 2, which I saw on the big screen as a teen. That piece of crap immediately retconned everything about the first movie, now apparently all the Immortals were aliens who had had come to Earth from the planet Zeist. In the 90s I did enjoy the Highlander TV show, which focussed on Connor's brother Duncan but after several years it retconned itself into incoherence.
