Added 2023-12-06 22:57:18 +0000 UTCThis was a fun surprise! I didn't know anything about this movie other than one line, not sure why it didn't become essential viewing π€ but I sure liked it! Kind of silly but in a good way, great score, classic fantasy stuff.

Interesting! I thought I was dumb for missing the answer to the riddle the first time, but I kind of worked it out later. I like how the broken steel also shows Conan his father was wrong about people, because he succeeded by trusting in love and his friends.

2023-12-09 17:33:59 +0000 UTCPretty good classic movie, I have the DVD that has about 5 more minutes of directors cut stuff. All you miss is another monologue from Arnold, them setting up all the traps and the princess helps arnold into the temple at the end, distracting guards etc before he kills James Earl Jones. It took me a couple of watches but you also get the answer to the riddle of steel from the 3 characters. His did thought the riddle of steel was trusting in steel itself(proven wrong when Conan breaks his Dad's sword), Thulsa Doom thought it was control over people(which fails when he tries to convince conan to not kill him) and Conan's answer of willpower/conviction seems true as it helped him survive and disprove the others answers to it.
