Right? It seems like in movies like this it's very easy to make the opponent or his team into cartoon villains, when in this movie it made more sense for them all to just be people. The only antagonist here is basically the sense of self.

The fact that Conlin's manager cared more about his family having money to live on was a surprise to me when I first saw this movie. I was shocked by his honesty regarding Conlin's family. Good man in my book. Yes, he saw it as an easy victory but that wasn't his motivation. Money was, but not for his fighter, but for his kids. Most underrated scene imo.

2024-10-18 23:41:45 +0000 UTCYeah, it really felt like it was both their movie. It's a respectful and natural way to introduce us to a new character. I'm guessing the next one is less of Rocky, letting him really be the Mickey, and then the third is Creed on his own.
