2024-03-29 19:21:07 +0000 UTCWoohoo! The Creed stories are worthy successors to the Rocky stories. I have been a fan of Michael B Jordan since I first saw him in "The Wire". I (as I've said before) am a latecomer to Stallone appreciation, and I was never a boxing fan. In fact, the very first fight I ever saw live on TV was the infamous Mike Tyson/Evander Holyfield "earbiting" disgraceful display. My Dad did karate in his youth, and used to talk about his only experience with boxing. It was during his Army training, baby Paras had to go through an excercise called "Milling" which paired them up with no regard for relative skill. The purpose was to encourage aggression. My Dad got punched in the nose which he said "really hurt". He lost his temper and began unleashing karate kicks on his opponent, which pleased his instructors. This move hits me in the feels partly because of my own Dad's struggle with cancer in the final months of his life .
