Beautiful Patrons.
My brain dislikes transitions. Moving between tasks or starting new ones can often bring on this wave of reluctance that I've started to think of as The Wall of Awful. Depending on the day, and how much energy I've got, this wall can feel nearly insurmountable. The difficulty or complexity of the tasks can also make a little resistance turn into a full on fit.
So I bribe myself.
I will HAPPILY offer my brain the delight of scrolling mindlessly on social media after we DO THE THING. Candy? Sure you can have it, just help me scale this inbox first. Want to go veg out in front of a a Youtube video? Done deal, we're just gonna get through this commission.
Does it work every time? No way. Does it remove the wall of awful? Not always. BUT it helps make the task of transitioning to the thing a little smoother. If a bunch of nonsense videos about unusual animal friendships can do it then I'm so happy to give my brain what it needs.
Do you have the wall of awful? Things you give your brain to make that wall climbable?
Patrons, thank you for always being part of what moves me forward. Making things for you is an utter joy and it's gotten me over many a mountain and helped me climb SO many walls. You're amazing and I appreciate the heck out of you. Thanks for being here friends.
