Drawing the Invisible

Magical Patrons,

This page rolled by during out most recent Sketchbook Tour on stream and I wanted to share it with you beautiful diamonds. I recently took a comics class with Shay Mirk all about drawing an aspect of ourselves that's invisible. The first task was to write a few unseen things - my list is in the top right - and then choose one to focus on.

I picked the fact that I am CONSTANTLY looking at the shape of things out in the world - noticing lines and the way objects fit is part of being an artist I think, but also just something that has forever distracted me. I have often had someone I know come RIGHT into my line of vision and wave me down before I realize they're talking to me and I am just wandering in my bubble.

The ask was to draw yourself "out in the world" and then to try to draw a representation of the invisible thing. My hair reaching out like antenna to notice everything felt right to me.

Thank you patrons, for making it possible for me to spend time in a class , and also spend time noticing things. I have the moments for this specifically because of your incredible support and they are so crucial for being a creative.
