Revised Celebrity Skate Tier List

Hey guys, here is a better version of the last upload. Not my best vid, but I think this version is a noticeable improvement. I'll probably leave this as a patreon exclusive and start working on something else for the main channel. Consider the summer blizzard starting right meow

Was hoping that would be here when I subscribed! Doesn't seem like he streamed on normal YT?

“In the spirit of ‘Gone Too Far,’ getting a boob job — nuclear move,” Stevo-O said. “Like all kinds of people are going to just fucking hate on it like crazy, and so many people are going to know about it, that I’m just kind of looking at it like a numbers game.” I know a certain stunt that "goes too far" that I would love to see Steve-O execute.

Ginwoo's Baldest Fan

If you believe the stuff you say on the internet, you should practice what you preach and see how people react. Also nice job avoiding the actual point I make in my comment.

AP "you should try that out" is a bad argument

"No one should believe in 'reclaiming' slurs. Either everyone can say them or no one at all. " You're saying black people shouldn't be allowed to say the n-word? Or that everyone should be allowed to say it? You should try that out.

AP

This is what's wrong with lefties. Mucho texto. If you can't get your ideas across in a length shorter than a research paper, maybe log off.

Danny s

No one should believe in 'reclaiming' slurs. Such a lazy concept. Either everyone can say them or no one at all. Jonah's cruiser board is gay and as a bi dude, I don't care if anyone says that. It's not 2009 PC era anymore. We're more evolved than that pearl clutching.

Cringe millennials gonna mald

One of the xgames commentators, Brandon graham (Brando to his boys) is a gold mine. He does the snowboard stuff and I sometimes can't tell if I'm laughing with him or at him this is him screaming an anchorman reference to celebrate a landed trick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypccK00QOqg&ab_channel=XGames

Joa I fw you so heavy but how could you leave out Kyrie Irving

To your point about “extreme divisiveness” and “small stuff”, we’re literally talking about two words in your vocabulary. I would wager there are many words that you’ve been more than happy to remove because they explicitly target marginalized communities you’re not a part of and because you know better.

AP

I genuinely think you’re giving Joa an inordinate amount of grace. He’s not queer, he’s using the word in a derogatory manner, and it’s a low effort, unfunny joke. He’s directly equating the word gay to mean something he thinks is lame and dumb. There’s no reference to any of the gay stereotypes you mentioned in your comment. Using that kind of language encourages others to do the same, and I truly believe the comedic value of sounding like a brain dead 5th grader isn’t worth spreading a hateful use of a word. If people aren’t comfortable making those jokes in a public way, there’s a reason for that. If queer people want to reclaim the word gay, or another derogatory three letter word, that’s their prerogative. Other marginalized communities have done the same. We all know that’s not what Joa is doing.

AP

he's scurred

Fair enough Queen. Sorry for assuming gender there. I have to say that I am super pleasantly surprised that someone actually has the humility and intelligence to engage this conversation in a constructive way. I very rarely engage with anyone online and did not necessarily expect to get such a thoughtful response in good faith. I had a really long day but I’ll do my best to articulate some of my perspective. I personally have witnessed many people in the gay community playfully use the term as a pejorative although I recognize that’s not necessarily the norm. Anybody that I know would never use those terms to directly put down a queer person or handicapped person. I guess they are still used as a pejorative in a way but more in a way that pokes fun at stereotypes. For example if someone is being catty or rude in a sort of stereotypically gay way someone might tell them to stop being so gay or even call them a bitch in a sort of stereotypically gay voice. Again I hear people of all genders and sexual orientations make these kind of jokes and as long as they are made with non-hateful intentions most people seem to be ok with it. I guess you could also say they are being used ironically because people do it with self awareness. As in, because they consider themselves on the same side as the queer people (whether they are themselves queer or not) they are sort of making fun of someone who might say something like that seriously. There’s a certain catharsis in that usage. I think the main reason I’ve seen them resurface is because I know a ton of people have felt an extreme level of fatigue surrounding the generally high level of divisiveness we all experience these days and just want to stop giving so much of a shit about the small stuff. I live in Seattle where the vast vast majority of people are on the far left of the political spectrum and care about marginalized people. Once that rule of compassion and acceptance of each other is established the specifics of how people express themselves, especially when it comes to humor, don’t matter so much. I would also say I never really see them used in a public and cavalier sort of way. Mostly amongst people who know and trust each other to not use them in a truly hateful or hurtful way. Which I think in a sort of weird parasocial way is what Joa is doing. Although I don’t want to speak for him. Hopefully any of that made sense. Much respect for your thoughtful response. 🖖🏽

vids fire bro🤓👍

Ryker Conrad

No young queer person is using gay in a pejorative way. I’m in the U.S. my partner is queer and hangs with queer folks all the time. If Joa said the word gay that way in front of them they’d tell him to fuck off for being a moron. And Joa knows it too, he’s just so far up his own ass to acknowledge it. If he wasn’t such a coward he’d make those same jokes to his actual gay friends and see how they feel about it.

no one reading that

Okay… can you explain to me how those words have changed enough to the point they’re no longer hurtful? I’m an admitted old-head, and I accept that language meanings morph with time. The meaning that I’m familiar with from back in the day is that they use group names of marginalized and at risk groups in pejorative ways. “Retarded” meant stupid, and was (and still) a slur when aimed at people with intellectual disabilities or learning delays. “Gay” was a catch all for anything a speaker didn’t like or thought was cringey or weak. Unlike “retarded”, which has been a pejorative as long as I can remember, gay was also used non-pejoratively to refer to primarily homosexual men. With the progress of the queer movement the cognitive dissonance of having beloved, out and proud, gay friends and family and still using it as a pejorative became too obvious and uncomfortable and it faded from use. Only the truly homophobic or obtuse or genuine shitbags used either of them anymore. I was a part of the fight to make people see how cruel and demoralizing those words were to use thoughtlessly. So , that’s my experience of those words. I’m genuinely asking what the semantic shift has been that they are now, as you say, back in common useage. Who is using them? Have they been reclaimed by the affected communities? Are they being used ironically? Also, is this just a regional variation? I may be an oldhead, but I do spend a lot of time socializing in casual settings with quite a few young people ranging in age from pre-teens to mid-20s, and I’ve never heard them use those words. I’m Canadian, so could it be that useage is confined to parts of the States? So-Cal perhaps? Most importantly, are young queer people using “gay” as a pejorative and are they okay with others also doing so? i repeat, I am asking these questions in good faith. When Joa used those words, it made me feel sick. If there is a wider useage with more nuanced and non-hateful meanings to them, I’m all ears. To me it seemed like they were being used in exactly the same way as before. What am I missing? Finally, it’s Queen, not King. And Caro is a shortened form of my name, but your Disenchantment reference crack me up 😁 Sorry for the wall of text 🤷🏻‍♀️

Caro

I’m tired of hearing you say gay and retarded in a derogatory way, feels like I’m in middle school. And you know you’re full of shit because you wouldn’t make that joke around someone like Chandler. Good luck being a willfully ignorant edge lord.

AP

Steve burns from blues clues was pretty good

Ps : Caro sounds like the name of the elf who cares to much about everything

concernedcitizen

Get with the times king. Gay and retarded are back in the lexicon. Language has nuance. There’s a difference between hatefulness and making fun of something. Editing people’s speech isn’t progressive its repressive. Pretending Jonah hills cruiser board isn’t gay would make liars of us all. Let’s all celebrate life and make fun of each other. 🧡

that was your best video
