Warhammer Fantasy Sketches

What a group of idiots we've assembled. The party is:

Ardel Strickland, Priest of Ulric who has turned into a very Scottish, very capable woman who is apparently very good at cutting mutants in half. A far cry from the lost lone priest I had envisioned, but it fits quite well.

Issac: A Bretonnia man who is an adherent of Morr. Started the campaign refusing to speak and two sessions in finally his us with a laugh and a soft "oui". We lost our minds. He has yet to open up about why he's wandering as a follower of Morr, but he is amazing at gambling.

Korbulin, our Kislevite dwarven boatman who is good at two things, and neither of them are gambling or fishing apparently. This poor man has critically failed every test he's made against Ardel to play Bishop (Five Finger Fillet). She's not a scratch on her and he's apparently only capable of stabbing his own hand. He also lost a fishing contest to our idiot savant and the dwarf nearly threw him overboard when Olly got cocky.

(Olly has escaped the grudge book only because Korbulin can not read or write)

Speaking of Olly, our investigator/idiot savant is just the dumbest smart man you could ever find. Apprentice to the famous Herlock Sholmes, he's struck out on his own and is the most cowardly little city boy you could ever find.

In terms of the overall story not too much has happened. Went to Altdorf, saw the big man himself Karl Franz parade through the Kings Square, missed out on the quest hook by and day, and are now sailing downriver to a sheep festival to try and catch up with the caravan we missed.

Ardel somehow rolled a natural 1 to receive a god-granted vision while praying to a statue of Evane** outside of the Old Temple of Ulric in Altdorf. In it she saw a vision of Sigmar himself fighting the Greenskins, only to watch him nearly get killed before a huge Ulric priest rolled over and took a hit for him. Then the two were laughing and drinking after the battle was won.

Considering she then went on to chat with the priest inside about tensions between the old faith and the new, and Sigmarites and Ulricians being generally very hostile in the south, She's got some thinking to do.

While she personally doesn't care if people worship Sigmar or Ulric, she does care about people spitting at her. Nearly came to blows with a group of Sigmar's Flagellants. So we'll see if she can help sow peace, as that's how she's interpreting the vision.

** Spelling/Naming on this woman seems to vary widely depending on what you're reading for Old World Lore.  She was Sigmar's first love, daughter to one of the Tribe Leaders and an Ulrician priest who eventually was killed by the Orks. Still revered by Ulricians as the female Ideal, apparently, a lot of temples in larger cities will feature her statues as well. Always holding a weapon in one hand, usually a war hammer because of her associations with Sigmar.
