hay bales

playing in a field on a cloudy afternoon, wearing a vintage dress. playfulness is something i love incorporating in my work. for a couple of years when i transitioned from being a teenager to being an adult, my adaptation was very hard and growing up really scared me. i wanted to hold on to anything that was pure and childlike as i grew up very fast and never quite had the chance to be a child even when I was very little. so in a way, these pictures symbolise my struggle to balance my inner-child and the expectations society has towards young women πŸ₯€

I think it's really good that you are self aware of your needs. 18 was very hard for me as well. I think we just need to understand that the responsibilities that fall onto us at 18 do not mean we are fully equipped to face them, as we are still immature in many ways. They even say that brains aren't fully developed until your are 24 years of age. Today's society expects children to act like adults, so I think it quite beautiful when "adults" keep a certain childlike curiosity and amusement. It makes the world, that can sometimes be very harsh, seem a little less dull and scary.
