Sorry. Glad you love her but to me she was the most annoying character early on and that hasn't changed. She's not been at the forefront all that much lately and it's been good. I found her extremely irritating even as a vampire.

2023-10-10 09:37:05 +0000 UTCHi Patpet - decided to take your advice and delete the posts. I doubt I will bother commenting again. It seems pointless to keep having to justify why I think what I do. It's an opinion and even though I don't try to convert others to see things my way, they seem to have no problem with trying to push Bonnie, Elena, Stefan...they don't actually get it that they are seeing Bonnie the way they accuse us of seeing Damon. If Damon's actions are not justifiable because of - his anger or abandonment issues (and they are not), then Bonnie's are not either because of past incidents or her bias towards Damon and others she doesn't like.

2023-10-10 09:28:06 +0000 UTCElena never pretended to be a nice, innocent girl. Many people describe Elena as Stefan did to Lexi in season 1, episode 8. He described Elena as a warm, kind, and good person, and that description was set in stone by many in the fandom. Still, sadly, they disregard audacious and cunning attributes as part of her personality. In the pilot episode, Elena confronted her brother, Damon and Stefan. She even stood up to Vicki to protect her brother. She stood her ground when Damon pretended to attack her after she slapped him in episode 7. Some of Elena’s spark was snuffed out, and her survival guilt set in overdrive after Stefan told her about the accident and how her father asked him to save her first. In other words, Elena doesn't pretend, especially not in a malicious manner. It is one thing not to express your thoughts or feelings due to judgment and another to pretend. These two scenarios are NOT the same. I agree with Patpet about Elena not being malicious toward Damon, but she was rightfully angry with him. I also agree that Damon’s comment about manipulation warns Elena not to act like Katherine because he admires Elena’s bravery and compassion like she did when he went to pick up Vicki’s body. Her sincere bravery prompted Damon to help her with Jeremy that night, and he didn't want to see Elena lose that part of her due to the pain he caused.
