Even though Gilles trained his tiny slaves really good, he liked better for them to enjoy being there for him and worshipping him. He thoughts of his orders like honors the tiny guys should be proud to do for him, and not humiliating shores as much as it was. He takes his time resting, enjoying feeling their small touch compared to his powerful huge body. But if they disobey, he reminds them about the guy in charge. Here is an example of those devoted tinies, and one who was more resiliant, punished to be trapped between his toes, trying not to crush him but it isn't sure if he will resist the temptation..
