Exactly but I think he HAD to have been abused by someone else in some way to be able to make it up. Like maybe someone in power told him to make it up which still isn’t his fault.

So, IRL part of the reason it’s very rare that kids lie about sexual abuse is because they don’t make up sexual encounters *without some exposure to those behaviors*. So it’s ALWAYS going to be a 🚩 either way. If we’re going with the theory that Gilbert lied about the sexual abuse from this specific teacher as a child, it seems pretty likely to me that he’s refusing help for being physically abused now b/c he thinks he deserves it, for having lied as a child. Which is HORRIBLE. Even if he lied entirely when he was a kid (i.e. he wasn’t abused by someone else and lied about who it was), he still does not deserve to be & should not be abused now.
