EEEEEEEK!!!!

It's a brand, brand, brand new episode of Map Men! And you get to see it first! Before anyone else!!!

This one's all about trap streets.... the hidden deliberate mistakes publishers put in their maps to make sure no one copies them.

See if you can spot not one, but TWO references in this video to one of my favourite YouTube channels, Geography Now. The first one, you should be able to spot quite easily, because I stare straight down the lens and say "this is a thing from Geography Now". But the second one is more well hidden. Are you eagle-eared enough to spot it? First to spot it wins a packet of M&Ms!

If you're not already a fan of Geography Now, I suggest you become one. If you like Map Men, you're bound to really like Geography Now. It's educational videos about every country in the world in alphabetical order. They're very fast paced and very silly, and occasionally very funny, but they cram so much information in. Also, I've met Barbs, the guy who presents, it and did a video with him once, and he's a really nice guy. Basically, go subscribe to Geography Now now, and sign up to their Patreon too.

There'll be more behind the scenes stuff coming up soon, but in the meantime, I do hope you enjoy the latest Map Men. Thank you very much! I'm off!

Brilliant episode!

The second reference is the song at the end?

There is never a time or a place I will be that I will not immediately watch the new Map Men video and laugh audibly. Relatedly, my coworkers might wonder what's so funny about the upstairs toilet.

This was a great video, thank you! One interesting story about this (I hope it won't piss you off that I share it here...) is that few years ago Jerusalem (the one in the middle east) updated their street signs, so they of course used a map to do it! but the map had the names of some streets wrong (as trap streets, they were names of some of the map company employees), but then by being on the sign they became official! This caused quite a lot of confusion for everyone involved.

I'm so happy to see Map Men back properly!
