HELLO!!! Long time no Patreon Post!
How've you been? How's lockdown been treating you?
I thought now was as good a time as any to give you a bit of an update on how things are going up my end.
Mark and I are, these days, having regular (more than weekly) Zoom meetings during which we sit down and work on scripts for series 3 of Map Men. We're aiming big this time - if all goes to plan (it never does) there might be as many as ELEVEN episodes.
As for when the first of these will be available to watch... (I know I say this all the time)... it's really hard to say. We're still in the script-writing stage, quite a long way off the storyboarding stage, let alone the booking studio space stage, let alone the hunting around looking for cheap props stage, let alone the learn our lines and start filming stage.
But we're making good progress, and we've both got covid-induced shit-all else to do, so with any luck, the first episode will be ready before the end of 2020. And once that first one goes up, there'll be episode after episode going up on a monthly basis for, like, a year, so that's something for us all to look forward to.
Thank you SO MUCH in the meantime for being a Patron! You're the ones who are making all this possible! Since I like you so much, I've got something to show you....
Here is a thing very few people (3,800 people) have seen. It's an advert Mark and I did 4 years ago. The script was rather rushed and the editing was done by a team of people that weren't us, which is why it looks and feels nothing like a Map Men. This reminds me a bit of, you know in the 70s, when they made movie versions of British sitcoms? Like 'Morecambe and Wise Go to the Seaside', or 'On The Buses Goes to the Seaside'? That sort of thing. Where it's on film instead of video, and there's no laughter track, and it just doesn't sit well? A bit like that. Anyway, enjoy!
If you're a $10 or more Patron, there's even more special behind-the-scenes stuff coming soon!
I'll keep you all updated on how progress is going on Map Men series 3 here on Patreon and over on my twitter. Stay tuned!
I love each and every one of you! (Not like that).
Thank you thank you thank you!
