Added 2021-08-04 18:48:39 +0000 UTCIn the last six weeks I've been struggling to keep going, but making videos and writing scripts has really helped. The fact that you guys allow me to keep doing this as a job is huge.
I wish I had something interesting or cool to show you but I mostly just have photos of my pets.
On the 7th (this Saturday) I will be streaming all afternoon and evening because it's my birthday. I have to admit, normally I'd be depressed to spend the day alone. But I won't really be spending it alone at all - I'll have a bunch of utter desks joining me virtually and since I can't cope with large crowds physically, it's probably the closest to a birthday party I'm ever going to get. And that is, frankly, awesome for me.
I know JJ has been keeping you guys updated with things like newsletters and stuff in the Discord, but I just wanted to personally let you know how deeply I appreciate you all. You make a very depressed person keep going. The community which has been built up around Octav1us is stunning, and I'm actually very excited about where this could go.

I was at that live stream. Near the beginning of the stream you were pretty sincere about struggling with loneliness, financial struggles, and life issues in general. I'm 43, I'm having to move in with my parents for a spell because the house I bought was in a worse neighborhood then I realized, and the job I'm working doesn't afford me to live in a better one. All of my friends are married and seem to be doing better than me. It's hard, but seeing someone else being sincere about a situation so similar to my own brought some level of comfort. I felt less alone. So thank you for being vulnerable. It means a lot.
