for those who use the itch app and have the nightly installed (or follow the nightly channel), you know there is some stuff happening.
But for everyone else, I guess the question is "What the heck is that cow doing?"
Pretty much, I'm rewriting systems. The movement system got a complete overhaul and works a lot nicer now.
The combat system is next, but has some issues to it.
Also I made a road map in my discord server, a copy follows, for those who aren't there
Pre-Alpha:
- proper movement system (in nightly)
- pause menu, with ability to exit game (in nightly)
proper pause menu and main menu
- ability to start game (main menu)
- load/save functionality (both)
- access to options (video, audio and controls)
proper combat system
- attacks for hero and mobs
- attack type strength/resistance needs to be shown
- show enemy health
- attack enchantment system
- changing into other mobs
- actual mob AI (need to decide mob behaviors)
inventory system
- potions and other consumables (bombs)
- decide on armor (yes/no) and special weapons?
- shops
- currency system (how should it work?)
crafting system ?
- how to get resources (plan is mob drops)
- how to craft items
- what items should be craftible?
design and create one area
- should include dungeons, plot and towns
- includes boss fight
design itch and steam store pages
- itch will be also with early access (and later access to steam keys)
- steam will be "coming soon", so people can wishlist, but no sales there, until release
