Info on what I'm doing (and planning)

Hey folks,

not really a progress report today, as I want to talk about a few things and very little has to do with Crysalis progress directly.

Though, there will be some talk about progress. So keep reading.


First of all, I've seen a big uptick in pledges since I published the trailer and I'm super happy about that!
I also seen a lot of pledges being upgraded to 3€ and then been cancelled immediately.
Which I think is people just wanting the to try the game or own the game.
And that is really fine by me! 

Why am I bringing that up then though? Well, it's not how Patreon is supposed to work and makes it harder for me to predict future income.

Patreon is my main source of income, so having it stable would be preferred.
What I'm going to do about it? Well, giving people what, I think, they want.

Meaning, once I progress to alpha and have the store pages ready, I am going to make the games early access.
So you can just buy them and this Patreon is for those who like to support me continuously.

I was also thinking about the model, I want to use for those sales.
Pre-orders would be more fitting to the title, as it's not content driven, but story driven and having the story revealed slowly isn't the best option.

So, why am I not doing that?
I could do it on itch, but that'll cut off early access to patrons as well, or I'd have to make a second game page and then migrate people. Both not very good options.
And well Steam.... Steam doesn't even allow pre-orders, unless you're really good buddies with Valve (which I'm somehow not)

Early access is the best option available, even though not the best option on a general scale.

But yeah, you will see Crysalis for early access soon-ish.
For price, I am thinking of keeping it in sync with the price (one month) here. Everyone who supports me here further also helps keeping me motivated! So big thanks for that :3

Now for actual game progress

Those who are on the nightly channel should've seen that I re-worked the movement system and combat system a little.

Also I added pots/chests and more enemies in the very final update, so far.

Next is transformations and concepting about how things work. As I slowly realize, that there isn't really going to be any item system at all, a bit falls away.
For that I try to figure out how transformations and ability/story progress should work in detail.

That is what I am working on, right at this moment. What I can say so far:

Also I am working on areas at the same time. Which means, that the first area will be in the alpha demo release.

Plan is also to have the store pages ready at that time, so I can offer the above mentioned early release, make another trailer and get even more people interested in this fantastic game!
