In a remote corner of the empire a small crossing is maintained by a handful of troops. Normally, this is a quiet assignment for new recruits and aged veterans; lately, there has been alarming reports from across the river. A remote farm was attacked, a logging crew has gone missing, the sound of drums can be heard at night, and now a patrol is late in returning. What dangers might lurk just across the bridge?
