There's actually an interesting parallel between yall and SMBC Theater. The SMBC folks tried to make their own full featured movie, kind of like yall with skyvault. It was called Starpocalypse, and I thought it was pretty entertaining. However, they didn't get enough commercial success off the movie, so part 2 never got made, and basically the whole channel was (essentially) abandoned, especially after the owner had a baby. The difference is yall survived, and continued making sketches even after you hit a big road bump.

2023-12-20 12:46:12 +0000 UTCGary the Misanthrope was my favorite sketch! It was super cool to hear about how it came together. Also, I get really sad whenever Kyle calls himself a failure. We believe the things we tell ourselves, which is why you should never call yourself "stupid" or "bad" or a "failure", because eventually you'll internalize and/or reinforce those beliefs. I'm $100,000 on debt, and every idea I've had has ended as a fiasco. If Kyle's a failure, then I'm a failure too. But I know that Kyle would never think that of me, because I tried my best and I made some cool stuff even if it wasn't commercially viable. Y'all have touched the lives of millions of people. Many of my favorite sketch comedy channels from early YouTube like SMBC Theater went completely belly up without ever getting near y'all's numbers. You should be proud of what you made. I'm already working on my next idea, and I hope y'all are too. The world is better off with y'all in it.

And I never would have suspected that you had to composite in the ball. I'm really digging these behind the scenes looks at your early output. Also not only am I interested in Kyle Comic Sans, I'd 100% love to see that book of comics JP was reading.
