In this episode we take a look at the minimum wage and why some people are against it being raised, but more importantly, we examine what the whole debate really shows about class consciousness in America. Thanks for providing another informative video. The more I learn about the USA, the more I see through the propaganda conveyed through movies and TV series to us in Europe.

2021-01-22 03:17:53 +0000 UTCIf I recall correctly, last I visited Denmark they didn't even have minimum wage laws there. The way it was explained to me, Danish rates of unionization were so high the unions directly negotiated for pay raises on behalf of every worker in Denmark every year, using the threat of a general strike if the demands weren't met. They had, like, pre-made tables on the minimum wage of everyone within a certain business with a certain seniority, which got updated every year. Makes you think what could be accomplished with a strong union. Granted that was, what, fifteen years ago now? Twenty? Things could have changed.
