The Free Market Isn't Free | The GameStop Saga Explained

Howdy, friends! After getting MANY requests to cover this topic, I decided to tackle the whole Reddit/GameStop/Robinhood stock market debacle. It's a fascinating example of how the so-called free market only exists to enrich those who already have capital. This episode was edited by my new editor, so make sure to tell me if there's anything you like or don't like about the editing! Hope you enjoy!

after this upgraded to tier 2 - fantastic video

You are the man. Thanks for conveying this information so eloquently. I personally want to burn capitalism to the ground. Capital can go suck it.

This is a great piece of film - I thought you explained "how" the stock market is fixed against 'retail investors' - and related it to a larger class struggle. P.S. - If YouTube ever hits you with a "Copyright Claim" (Worldwide - not just U.S.), then you've done it! Keep up the great work.

The due diligence honestly made sense while it was happening, but myself and alot of other people didn't take into account the ladder attacks, restrictions, and other blatantly illegal activity the hedge funds did to tank the stock with the SEC not giving a shit about it.

But its fuel of hate and discontent that we welcome. Go watch just about any PragerU video and you'll get some REAL hate and discontent

Amazing explanation of shorting, first time I actually got it. Thank you again for your wonderful work

Excellent, very clear and concise.

I love you and as much as I love seeing those f*ckers getting it where it hurts, I encourage you to watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vd3iZDN_OI The 3 things that _may_ need some balance: 1. "Nothing illegal" is somewhat not true. The market was still manipulated. Illegal is not the same as immoral, and that some people on Reddit collude to game that freaking system is awesome to watch, and I wouldn't consider that immoral. But is it legal? Not sure. (Note: That you would earn money by betting that a company will die is certainly legal, and immoral for sure). My point there is that, legality in the matter is not super relevant. Morality is. 2. There might actually have been some legit reasons for Robinhood to limit trading on that stock - mostly that notion of "margin" buying where people buy before they effectively put the cash in ; in which case limiting the risk of their customers (and their own) might be legit. Now, it might not be the real reason, and the actual one might be collusion, but in any case that's still something to consider to be balanced 3. I actually agree with that guy. Looking at stocks on Robinhood (or whatever you use) is a loss of time. I don't understand that we can let a system run that free that you would allow people to get rich by just placing bets like that.

Excellent video, As usual!

First folx gotta stop kicking down and start punching up! I worked on wall street and the big boys on the stock exchange just looooved to screw the the little people when their small stock orders came in. It was like watching a murder.

I'm down, let's build something new. This sucks.

You are my hero

I must say part of me misses the old non-political content. That being said this content is good, if a little depressing. Keep it up.

Damn, thank you for my weekly fuel of hate and discontent.

“The corporations and the politicians play on the same team, and that team does not include us” I love you, call it like it is
